Solar SubmersiblePump System
Replace expensive diesel pumps with clean solar power. Irrigate your fields for free — no electricity bill, no diesel cost. The PM-KUSUM scheme offers up to 90% subsidy for farmers.
Solar-Powered Water Pumping for Farmers
A solar submersible pump system replaces diesel or grid-powered pumps with solar panels that directly power a submersible motor placed deep inside a borewell or open well. It lifts water to the surface for irrigation, drinking water supply, or livestock.
Under PM-KUSUM Component C, the government covers up to 90% of the cost — farmers pay only 10%, and in many states even that 10% comes as a soft loan from NABARD or state banks.

How a Solar Pump Works
Sunlight to water — in four simple steps
Solar Panels
Absorb sunlight and convert it to DC electricity. Mounted on a MS frame near the borewell.
VFD Controller
Variable Frequency Drive converts DC to AC and regulates pump speed based on sunlight intensity.
Submersible Motor
AC power drives the motor inside the borewell, pulling groundwater up through rising pipes.
Field Irrigation
Water is delivered to drip/sprinkler lines or storage tanks for irrigation and drinking.

Farmer Benefits at a Glance
Eliminate Diesel Cost
A 5 HP diesel pump costs ₹50,000–70,000/year in fuel. Solar eliminates this completely from day one.
Reliable Water Supply
No DISCOM power cuts, no fuel shortages. Pump runs whenever there is sunlight — 8 to 10 hours daily.
Zero Carbon Emission
Completely clean energy. No smoke, no noise, no pollution — good for you and the environment.
Low Maintenance
No moving parts in solar panels. Motor service every 3–5 years only. Much simpler than diesel engines.
Income from Surplus Power
Under PM-KUSUM, unused solar power can be sold back to DISCOM where the state allows it, earning extra income.
25-Year Return
After paying 10% cost (sometimes even that is a soft loan), you get free water and/or income for 25 years.

Common Questions
Is the 90% subsidy available in my state?
PM-KUSUM Component C is run through state nodal agencies, so the split between Central, State and farmer share and the approval timeline vary by state. We check your eligibility and prepare the application.
How deep a borewell can the pump handle?
Our packages cover roughly 60 to 300 ft depending on HP. During the survey we measure depth and water level and choose a pump with the right head.
Will the pump run on cloudy days or at night?
Output drops in cloud and the pump runs only in daylight. A storage tank lets you use the water at any time.
How long does subsidy approval take?
Typically 4–8 weeks after application, depending on your state agency. We follow up on your behalf.
What maintenance is needed?
Mostly periodic panel cleaning. The pump motor needs service every 3–5 years. A 1-year free AMC is included.
