Solar Power Replacing Grid for Your Chakki Motor
A Solar Atta Chakki system replaces the electricity connection of your flour mill motor with solar power. Instead of paying ₹8–₹12 per unit for grid electricity (or even more for diesel), your mill runs on completely free solar energy for 8–10 hours every day.
The system uses a Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) between the solar panels and the motor, which smoothly regulates motor speed based on available solar power — protecting the motor from voltage fluctuations and extending its life.
An optional battery backup keeps your chakki running during brief cloudy spells or in the early morning and late evening. You can also have a hybrid setup that draws from the grid when solar is insufficient.

Common Questions
Will my mill run at night?
A direct solar system powers the mill in daylight. At night or in heavy cloud the mill can run from the grid as usual, so grinding is never blocked.
What solar size do I need for my motor?
As a guide: 5 HP needs about 4 kW, 10 HP about 7.5 kW and 15 HP about 11 kW. We confirm after checking your actual load.
How fast will I recover the cost?
Based on our estimates most mills recover the cost in around 14–15 months, depending on running hours and your tariff.
